Purpose:

The purpose of the Standard Of Excellence year end high point award is to recognize SHG members for their efforts in promoting the 30” and under miniature horse. 

Eligibility:

All 30” and under horses owned by SHG  members in good standing are eligible.

Any horse which goes over the height limit during that year is eliminated from the SOE program and entry fee is forfeited. 

Youth must be an immediate family member or a youth handler of an SHG member.

Categories:

1. Senior Stallions 30” and Under

2. Senior Mares 30” and Under

3. Youth Halter 30" and Under

4. Open Performance 30” and Under (one horse owned by SHG member) (includes showmanship)

5. Amateur Performance 30” and Under (one horse, one handler) (includes showmanship)

6. Youth Performance 30” and Under (one horse, one handler) (includes showmanship)

7. Solid Color 30” and Under

8. Multicolor 30” and Under

9. Service Horse 30” and Under (including nursing home, school, & hospital visits,  parades & exhibitions .  Other activities may be accepted pending review by SHG officers)

Entry Fee:

New for 2007.  No charge for entering the SOE!!!!!!! 

The job of SHG  is the promotion of the 30” and under horses.  Having our small horses out in public is promotion.  More divisions can be added each year or as needed. 

Awards through 6 places the first year. 

All show placings will be awarded points in an equal manner……whether breed or open shows.  If you are in one of the show classes, please record the number of entries in your class.  Points awarded through 6 places:
1^st place -   6 points
2^nd place -  5 points
3^rd place -  4 points
4^th place -  3 points
5^th place -  2 points
6^th place – 1 point

If there is only one entry, the winning horse shall earn one point.

Service horses will receive 6 points per activity.

Because all of our membership are honest people of the highest integrity, all point reporting will be on an honor basis. 

Start sending in your 2007, nominations and activity reports.    You may nominate a horse any time throughout the year.   The activity reports need to be turned in within 30 days of the activity.
